Cost Accounting

I have implemented numerous cost accounting systems utilizing both standard and direct costing concepts and principles. If you have cost accounting questions and issues, I can assist you on a virtual basis. I have also selected and implemented numerous ERP systems using a variety of cost accounting applications. Other cost areas of expertise include job costing, project accounting, and percentage of completion accounting.

Setting Standard Costs

Standard cost systems require the establishment of a variety of different types of standard costs. There are typically questions associated with the standard setting process. My extensive experience with standard and job costing systems can save you a considerable amount of time dealing with the complexities of standard cost systems. I can also assist with cost roll ups and valuing inventories using LIFO, FIFO, actual average, and specific cost (lot tracking) methods. I also have training programs on inventory management.

Lean Accounting

There has been a shift toward lean thinking and lean accounting applications. My book, Dynamic of Profit Focused Accounting provides a blue print for using and applying lean accounting concepts including the use of rolling forecasts and lean performance metrics. I also can provide guidance on using lean accounting to comply with GAAP accounting.

Activity Base Costing and Analysis

I have extensive experience in using activity based costing and analysis. I can provide training examples of activity based analysis theory and concepts on a virtual basis that will enable you to effectively use these cost analysis tools. Additionally, I can provide virtual coaching support as you utilize different cost management concepts.

Capital Investment Analysis

There are a number of tools and techniques including the calculation of the weighted average cost of capital to analyzing different investment options. I can assist you and provide training on a virtual basis using my Cost Accounting for Managerial Decision Making training program.
