Aligning Business Processes to Create a Competitive Advantage
One of the areas that CPAs frequently need help with are operational issues and supply chain management. My background includes extensive work with manufacturing companies, inventory management and the logistics of the supply chain. I am APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certified in inventory and production management (CPIM).
Operations
Typically there is a perception that operations are linked specifically with manufacturing. In reality operations include a variety of tools that apply to back office administrative situations, service organizations, medical facilities, and other types of businesses. These tools include lean work flow, six sigma, activity-based analysis, and the theory of constraints. My book Dynamics of Profit Focused Accounting discusses and provides information on using these applications. In addition, I have developed numerous training programs dealing with these tools. These attributes provide me with an extensive amount of support to assist CPAs and businesses with their operational issues and challenges.
Some of the specific operational areas that I support include:
- Inventory management
- Cycle time improvement
- Business process improvement
- Work flow improvement
- Logistics
- Activity-based analysis and costing
Supply Chain Management
We live in a global economy which impacts smaller businesses. This requires aligning business processes and value chain activities in ways to create a competitive advantage. I can assist business and their advisors on how to more effectively align activities to produce, market, and deliver products and services throughout the supply chain. You are a phone call away from receiving advice that can help you streamline operations, accelerate cash flow, and increase profitability. In addition to my experience in these areas, I have training programs that can be virtually delivered to help educate and train your team members.
