Supply Chain
You might ask since a focus of my consulting practice is smaller and family-owned businesses, why I am talking about the supply chain. It is important to realize that supply chain management encompasses businesses of all sizes. We live in a global economy where competition is fierce and innovation is a key business driver. Regardless of business size, there will be implications emanating from supply chain management concepts and processes.
Smaller businesses will need to adopt supply chain management philosophies and methodologies embraced by larger companies in order to remain competitive. The supply chain consists of the link of activity from the source of products and services including raw materials into the process of manufacturing, distribution, retailers, and on to the ultimate customer.
I am APICS (American Production Inventory Control Society) certified in production and inventory management (CPIM). These skills and techniques are applied to my clients enabling them to streamline their operations, accelerate cash flow, and build profitability.
A key component of effective supply chain management is alignment of value chain activities in ways that provides a competitive advantage. The value chain is a collection of activities designed to produce, market, deliver, and support its product or service. Alignment of these primary activities, in addition to the support activities of the value chain, is critical to profitability. Value chain alignment with suppliers and customers can produce a significant competitive advantage. I am able to utilize my experience and expertise in these areas to achieve higher levels of profitability and utilization of assets employed.
My consulting and training services provide assistance and support to smaller companies on how to maximize the value chain and other elements of managing their supply chain. I provide training and support on how to achieve continuous improvement through effective inventory management, customer relations management, logistics, and sales and operational planning.
